THE CHALLENGE

Eye Surgeons of Indiana relocated its Indianapolis office to a new freestanding facility. The facility has a shared lobby with three suites; clinic, surgery center and administrative suite. Patients of Eye Surgeons of Indiana are typically elderly or have poor eyesight which can make navigating a space challenging.

OUR SOLUTION

Four Point minimized flooring transitions to reduce confusion or perception of uneven flooring. Wayfinding is integrated into the design of the facility through use of color in paint and signage which provides identity to the 4 exam lanes. Oversized, grand circular pendants in the ceiling identify registration and waiting spaces.

THE RESULT

Patients found the new space easier to navigate. Employee morale increased due to the integration of natural light in spaces such as the OR sterile corridor, staff lounge and work zones.
