Four Point Design projects to be featured at 2024 Healthcare Design Conference and Expo

As an Indianapolis-based interior design firm that specializes in healthcare spaces, Four Point Design is thrilled that the 2024 Healthcare Design Conference and Expo is taking place in our city Oct. 5-8. In addition to attending the conference, Four Point Design team members are helping lead an educational session, and two of our projects are being featured through facility tours.

Session to explore designing for recovery, dignity, and respect in a narcotics treatment program

Jamie Raymond, partner at Four Point Design, will join Brian Mader, principal at arcDESIGN; Ashley Overley, MD, CEO of the Sandra Eskenazi Mental Health Center; and Daniel Kloc, director of facility and planning for Eskenazi Health; to present, “Designing for Recovery, Dignity, and Respect in a Narcotics Treatment Program,” on Monday, Oct. 7.

Mader, Overley, Kloc, and Raymond recently worked together to rejuvenate and remodel a 15,000-square-foot building within an abandoned shopping center campus in downtown Indianapolis into a facility that houses a narcotics treatment program. Their Healthcare Design Conference session will explore how to design for mental health and addiction treatment services that focus on the fundamentals of recovery, development of recovery plans, and relapse prevention.

Facility Tours of NeuroDiagnostic Institute and Advanced Treatment Center and Franciscan Health Orthopedic Hospital Carmel

The Healthcare Design Conference includes a variety of tours that give attendees an opportunity to view leading healthcare facilities firsthand. Two of Four Point Design’s projects are featured through tours: the NeuroDiagnostic Institute and Advanced Treatment Center in Indianapolis and Franciscan Health Orthopedic Hospital Carmel.

Four Point Design partnered with BSA LifeStructures on the Neuro-Diagnostic Institute and Advanced Treatment Center, which is located on the Community East Hospital campus. The Center delivers advanced evaluation and treatment for patients with the most challenging and complex neuropsychiatric illnesses and moves them more efficiently into the appropriate treatment settings within the community or state mental health system.

Victoria Numbers will participate in the tour, which will cover challenges and solutions for behavioral health environments, keys to designing buildings with mixed occupancy, and design strategies that enhance the patient experience and improve staff efficiency.

Four Point Design partnered with MSKTD for the Franciscan Orthopedic Hospital of Carmel, which is dedicated to excellence in orthopedic specialty care, sports medicine, and high-performance results for athletes of all levels. The core of the complex revolves around a hospital (operated by Franciscan Health), a medical office building (operated by Forte Sports Medicine), and the joint-venture ambulatory surgery center.

The hospital’s thoughtful design unifies separate facility components and emphasizes innovative patient care, exceptional service, and amenities for patients, visitors, and staff.

Diana Ricks will co-host the tour with MSKTD, Franciscan Alliance, Forte Sports Medicine, and Tonn and Blank Construction. Attendees will observe selective use of sustainable, durable materials and finishes and references to nature that provide a modern healing environment. Those features—combined with the extensive rehabilitation center and dedicated research area—make this a truly unique complex.

In line with staying “on point” with our clients, the Four Point Design team looks forward to participating in this conference and engaging in dialogue about how to create healing environments for our clients and partners.
